Upstartle adds PDF support to web-based document editor

Silicon Valley-based Upstartle has announced the latest round of new features in its web-based, collaborative document editor. Entitled Writely, the product is currently in a free, public beta phase, but will ultimately be offered as a commercial service. The exciting part for Planet PDF readers, however, is the addition of PDF support.

Upstartle co-founder Claudia Carpenter wrote, ‘Look for ‘Save as PDF’ on the Action menu in the editor.’ She then confirmed that use of the feature would be restricted to paid subscribers once the beta phase was complete. Another significant development has been the increasing capacity of the service, not content with scaling the service to accommodate 100,000 users, Carpenter claims that it support up to a million by the end of the month.
