Adobe Systems recently posted software updaters for Adobe Reader 7.0 and Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (Standard and Professional) for both Macintosh and Windows. The version 7.0.1 updaters require that the respective 7.0 version is already installed.
For Windows users, there is a single 4.7 MB updater file (Acro-Reader_701_Update.exe) that will work to update multiple language versions of the free Reader 7.0 product or either flavor of Acrobat 7.0. For Macintosh OS X-based users, there is a separate updater application for Reader 7 (Adobe-Rdr_701_Upd_Pkg.dmg), Acrobat 7 Standard (Acrobat-Std_701_Upd_Pkg.dmg) and Acrobat 7 Pro (Acrobat-Pro_701_Upd_Pkg.dmg).
Adobe recommends all users install this update, which provides improved security and support for hyperlinks to PDF files in Microsoft Office documents, and addresses known issues associated with forms workflows, 2D barcodes and viewing PDF files that contain 3D content.
The updaters can be downloaded and installed manually, or can be accessed and applied within the respective application by utilizing the ‘Check for Updates Now’ option under the ‘Help’ menu in the toolbar.
