Ever tried to google ‘Google’? Although it will come up as the first hit, its likely that you wouldn’t have needed to search in the first place. Google has become so synonymous with web-based search that it has its own dictionary entry!

A recent report released by market research firm Millward Brown Optimor confirms what many of us suspected: that Google Inc. still tops the list of most powerful brands in the world, beating out the likes of Microsoft Corp. and Apple Inc.

Jumping 30% from last year Google’s the firm has reported Google’s current value as $86.1, leading General Electric Co. ($71.4 billion) and Microsoft Corp. ($70.8 billion). Millward Brown Optimor reports that these figures were based on financial data and interviews with consumers from around the world.
