This week in PDF has seen a PDF form-filling product added to Apple’s App Store and an update to a PDF annotation utility that has been streamlined for use with tablet devices.
First up, EarthLink, Inc. has announced the launch of its Touch-Fill-Go App on the App Store. The app lets users take a picture of any document, fill it out, organize, sign and email it as a PDF document from an iPhone or iPod touch.
The Touch-Fill-Go App lets users capture forms or documents or import an image from a device’s photo library. Forms can be completed on the go, include a person’s own signature, and be emailed as a PDF file or shared with other Touch-Fill-Go users wirelessly via Bluetooth. With Touch-Fill-Go, users can also make copies of documents and edit them at a later time, making it easy to complete the same form for multiple uses and individualize any necessary information.
The application is currently available from the App Store.
Also making news this week was the release of GRAHL software design’s PDF Annotator 2. The software is streamlined for use with tablet devices, and allows users to add comments, corrections, drawings, signatures or highlighting to PDF documents. The new version allows users to use their finger as a highlighter, circle errors in a document and add supplementary text in the margin. This makes it much simpler to process any kind of text since it builds on the classic method using pen and paper.
