Since last time, UNIVERSE Software has reduced the risk of being locked-out of one’s PDF documents, while Bluebeam Software has updated its PDF manipulation solution and PDF Conference 2007 has officially opened for registrations.
The Solingen, Germany-based UNIVERSE Software has updated company’s password-recovery software. pdf-Recover 4.0 adds Acrobat 8 compatibility and makes the recovery of lost PDF passwords to allow for editing or manipulation a one-click proposition. More information on pdf-Recover 4.0 and UNIVERSE Software’s other products can be found at the vendor Web site.
While that UNIVERSE’s product may allow locked PDF documents to be edited, Bluebeam Software’s recently updated tool allows users to perform some of those manipulations. New features in Bluebeam PDF Revu version 5.0 include Headers & Footers, Document Comparison, PDF Redaction, Bates Stamping, and Markup Summaries. The updated version also adds support for the Windows Vista operating system and Microsoft Office 2007. More at www.bluebeam.com.
Finally, registration for PDF Conference 2007 is now open. The show, whose tagline — ‘Optimize Your Workflow with PDF Forms’ — indicates its focus, offers multiple starting times for East and West coast US participants and will be conducted online via Adobe’s Acrobat Connect service. Holding the entire conference online is a novel approach, and I for one will be interested to see how it turns out. Additional information on the program, speakers and session content can be found on the conference Web site.
That’s it for this week. Watch this space!
