This week in PDF has seen the announcement of a new developer library for integrating HTML-to-PDF functionality and the launch of a new printing platform.
First up, SautinSoft has announced the release of PDF Vision .Net, a new library for integrating HTML-to-PDF conversion functions to web-based and desktop applications running on Windows. Additionally, the library enables an application to convert images in most common formats, including TIFF, to PDF. PDF Vision .Net can be used in any type of .NET application, either ASP.NET websites or Windows Forms applications, to produce a PDF hard copy from files, URLs and memory streams. A website or desktop application, enhanced by the library, will be able to convert HTML pages or images in all popular formats to PDF, convert TIFF images to multipage PDF, split and merge PDF documents.
Interested developers can download a trial version of PDF Vision .Net to test the library under real working conditions from the official vendor website.
In other news, EFI has launched its next-generation Fiery digital print production platform. The new platform boasts new color tools, support of Adobe PDF Print Engine v2 (APPE) for pure PDF workflows, and improved JDF integration. Named Fiery System 9 R2, the new Fiery technology delivers a 35 percent increase in speed over the previous generation platform driven by software and hardware innovations. That’s it for this week. Watch this space!
