Planet PDF is a division of Nitro PDF Software.
This week in PDF has seen an update to a tool for creating press-ready PDF documents and a PDF creation and viewing utility integrated with Evernote’s multi-platform memory service.
First up, Enfocus has launched the latest version of its tool for producing press-ready Certified PDFs. Instant PDF 09 can preflight and automatically correct PDF files after creation, making it simpler for designers to meet standard compliance requirements. The latest release adds support for Adobe CS 5 and QuarkXPress 8 applications, along with the latest industry standards. Instant PDF 09 is now also compatible with Windows 7 and Mac version OS X 10.4.11 through to the latest 10.6; now including 64-bit compatibility. For more information, visit the official Enfocus website.
In other news, Nitro PDF Software has announced the first phase of a new partnership with Evernote Corporation, makers of the popular multi-platform memory service that helps you ‘remember everything.’ As part of today’s launch of The Evernote Trunk, a dynamic catalog designed to help users discover complementary products, applications, and content that enrich their Evernote experience, Nitro Reader now includes a seamless integration with Evernote, allowing users to save content from their PDF files directly to their Evernote account. The feature will only be visible to those users with Evernote installed.
‘We get excited whenever an integration addresses something that our users really want. Nitro PDF is a good example,’ said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. ‘They have done an excellent job of tying the PDF annotation process directly to Evernote. Together, the two products eliminate the need for papers and filing. This makes going paperless simpler than ever.’
