This week in PDF has seen one company announce that it will exclusively distribute Adobe’s software solution for print providers, while another updated its DWG-to-PDF conversion tool and a third vendor updated its PDF-related developer products.
First up, Datalogics has announced its exclusive distribution of Adobe PDF JobReady 3.0. The software enables print providers to offer more secure PDF workflows that begin at customer desktops, extending via the web to final output devices. The new version adds support for Windows Installer (MSI)-based distribution files and a new, internationalized client-side job queuing capability. For more, check out the official Datalogics web site.
Moving upstream now, and AcroCAD has updated its AutoCAD DWG to PDF Converter. Like previous editions, version 6 converts DWG and DXF drawings to vector PDF files and other formats, making them easy to share with clients and others. The latest version, however, improves PDF output controls and adds the ability to combine multiple files or create images from drawings. For more information, visit dwgpdfconverter.com.
On the developer front, ceTe Software has announced the release of DynamicPDF Core Suite v5.0 for .NET, DynamicPDF Generator v5.0 for .NET and DynamicPDF Merger v5.0 for .NET. The DynamicPDF products enable software developers to provide PDF content dynamically from enterprise applications for presentation, distribution or archiving. The version 5 release adds native support for charting, which in turn allows for the creation of various types of charts (bar charts, line charts, pie charts, etc.) within dynamically created PDF documents. Font support has also been extended with full support for OpenType fonts, along with font kerning and tracking. By popular demand, support for digital signatures, PDF/A-1b and embedded files in PDF have also been added. For full release details, check out ceTe’s official web site.
