SmileOnMyMac Releases PDFpen and PDFpenPro 3.1

SmileOnMyMac has released the updated versions of its PDFpen and PDFpenPro 3.1. The latest release gives users the ability to add, edit and remove URL and page links in PDFpen, and access text formatting attributes using AppleScript. In addition, the updated versions corrected the bugs in the ‘Merge Imprints into Page’ function and the redraw performance problem.

SmileOnMyMac also announced the release of its PDFpen retail edition which will be distributed by Dr. Bott and is now available in Apple Stores. The retail version is priced at $45 and is the same as the downloadable version available on the company site. The retail version comes with a program CD and a Quick Start card, according to the company.

Company co-founder Philip Goward said, ‘The PDFpen box product definitely meets a need at the retail level of a reasonably priced PDF editing tool.’

PDFpen is priced at $49.95 and PDFpenPro runs $94.95. Users of earlier versions may upgrade to the latest version for $25.00, and upgrades are free to users who purchased earlier versions after July 1, 2006.

PDFpen and PDFpenPro require Mac OS X 10.4 or later. The company is also offering demo versions at the Web site.
