Quark and Enfocus join forces

Quark has announced a strategic alliance with prominent PDF prepress company Enfocus Software. The pact’s aim is to ‘to improve the overall PDF experience within QuarkXPress, and provide bundled solutions that streamline Certified PDF-based workflows,’ according to Quark’s press release. Earlier this year, the Denver-based Quark joined the Ghent PDF workgroup, of which their new allies are founding members.

Enfocus Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Patrick Van Dam called the deal ‘a win-win situation for all parties. For Enfocus, it is an excellent way to jump-start the adoption of Certified PDF by the designer community.’ He added that Enfocus Certified PDF technology was already widely used by publishers and printers to retain quality and save time. He went on to state that the alliance would benefit creative professionals such as designers, providing ‘a very simple and convenient solution for creating flawless, error-free Certified PDF files that output properly.’

During the first phase of this new partnership, QuarkAlliance partners will have the opportunity to receive special partner pricing for Enfocus Instant PDF to immediately start integrating it into their PDF-based workflows.

‘We want to give our partners the tools they need to service our mutual customers more effectively. PDF issues cost our partners and customers a lot of time and money. Together with Enfocus we can empower our partners to leap over many of these expensive hurdles,’ said Cyndie Shaffstall, manager of QuarkAlliance programs.
