Planet PDF launches new PDF Accessibility and Section 508 Forum

With the release of Acrobat 7.0, Adobe has added new tools to help authors, designers and content managers make their PDFs more accessible to users with disabilities and improve compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Section 508 requires U.S. federal government agencies and their contractors to produce electronic content in a form accessible to users with disabilities. Many state and local governments are adopting similar mandates to ensure their electronic content is accessible to the widest possible base of users. Businesses are learning that it’s good business to ensure their sales and marketing materials, product manuals and other customer-service oriented content is as accessible as possible.

In recognition of increasing interest in PDF accessibility, Planet PDF has decided to launch another Forum, this one devoted to PDF Accessibility and compliance with Section 508.

More resources on PDF accessibility are available from the Accessibility Learning Center at Planet PDF.
