PDF Update: Foxit comes to Android devices

In this PDF update, we find the release of a PDF creation and editing application for Android mobile devices, and an update to a .NET component for reading and manipulating PDF documents.

First up, Foxit Corporation has announced the release of the Foxit Mobile PDF app for Android mobile devices. The new version of the app is currently available from Amazon’s Appstore for Android and Google’s Android Market. Mobile PDF now allows Android-based users to create, read, annotate and secure PDF documents. The app is based upon the same technology as its desktop counterpart, Foxit Reader, and the app’s major selling point is its feature-level correspondence with that application. Another recent release is an update to an existing PDF-related .NET component. TallComponents has released version 4.0 of PDFKit.NET, its component for creating and manipulating PDF documents and forms. The product can be used to split, append, stamp, and encrypt PDF documents, or to fill PDF forms. The major update adds support for converting and saving to PDF/A-1b, generating QR codes, importing JBIG2 images, and removes support for .NET 1.1. For more, check out the official product page.
