Optimizing PDF documents in Acrobat

PDF is a great format for document delivery. With a little know-how, it allows you to send compact documents with the confidence that they will be faithfully displayed on your recipients’ systems. What you might not know is that Acrobat includes a ‘PDF Optimization’ feature that can reduce file sizes even further. It can be used to adjust image compression settings or remove potentially unnecessary document elements such as comments, bookmarks or links.

To fire up the PDF Optimizer in Acrobat:

  1. Open your document in Acrobat.
  2. Choose Advanced > PDF Optimizer.
  3. Adjust settings as desired.

You’re done! Simple, huh?
