LineType Software, Inc., a developer of electronic document tools for design professionals, has announced the release of the Banjo Digital Signature plug-in for Adobe Acrobat. The new plug-in is designed specifically for architects and engineers, and the company web site describes it as ‘the first digital signature tool designed to meet the needs of design professionals and the legal requirements of professional licensing boards.’ The Banjo plug-in allows users to customize the appearance of digital signatures to comply with licensing board standards for signing and sealing construction drawings and specifications, and any alteration to a signed document will visibly invalidate the signature.
‘As a practicing architect, I know the ways in which digital signatures can increase efficiency and reduce costs in our profession,’ says John TeSelle, AIA, president of LineType Software, Inc. ‘I also know that that there is not any other product on the market that will realize these benefits as thoroughly and as conveniently as will the Banjo plug-in. It has been designed specifically to integrate into the AEC workflow — everything from construction documents to contracts to change orders and submittals can be processed more efficiently using this software.’
The Banjo plug-in is currently available from the LineType Software website.
