Global Graphics has launched version 5.1 of gDoc PDF Server(TM), its server-based PDF software that manages the conversion of multi-format documents into PDF files. Version 5.1 includes updated platform support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32- and 64-bit) and Windows 7. In addition, the integration with Microsoft Office has been updated with a ribbon toolbar, for Office 2007 and Office 2010.
Other new and upgraded features include a drag-and-drop workflow interface and 128-bit encryption. PDF files can be optimized for specific print applications e.g. high-end or office printing or web publishing, and administrators can make pre-defined or custom PDF settings available as printer drivers, to maintain standards across an organization.
‘The IT administrator can set up multiple workflows to suit business requirements,’ said product manager David Stevenson. ‘PDF settings can be configured for each workflow path, depending on the destination of the document. The IT administrator retains central control over monitoring and job scheduling, so for example, for high volumes of documents, load-balancing across multiple servers. From where the user sits the conversion process happens seamlessly with minimum performance impact as the server does all the work.’
gDoc PDF Server is available for trial from Global Graphics and from resellers worldwide.
