Dell Adding More PDF Capabilities To Printers

At Planet PDF we discourage the use of paper, and espouse a paper free office environment. Paper however still is a necessary evil even though many of us try to reduce its use. When new printers come out, it is good to see that more of them have the function to scan documents to PDF with OCR software built in so that the text is searchable.

Dell’s new Colour Multifuction Printer – C5765dn, is part of a new suit of printers that have the scanning to searchable PDF function as standard. This is heavy duty hardware and the MFP has a range of useful features for any office or professional printer.

For us, it is a matter of converting archive files to PDF reducing storage costs and hopefully recycling the paper into something else.

In a quick summary, the Dell C5765dn is a fast low running cost machine. It has solid graphics, duxplexing ADP, scans to searchable PDF, PCI and PostScript.

The two major con is that it has a very high purchase price and fax is not standard.
