Apago debuts PDF Shrink 4.5 for Windows

Apago has announced the release of PDF Shrink 4.5 for Windows, bringing the popular Mac utility to Windows users.

Dwight Kelly, president of Apago said, ‘One of the major complaints with PDf is file size. PDF Shrink has been extremely well-received on the Mac and we’ve had a demand for the Windows version for some time.’

PDF Shrink 4.5 for Windows offers users an easy to use wizard for creating customized settings of PDFs. Additionally it allows the user to create PDFs for different uses including sending documents via email and a higher quality setting for preparing files for storage in a CMS.

The program offers PDF resizing ease giving users the ability to simply drag and drop a single PDF file or a group of PDFs as well as identifying elements that can be optimized, often without requiring a change to quality of images.

The software can also remove embedded fonts and delete unused elements, including metadata, thumbnails and duplicate data. The software also supports common compression methods, including JPEG2000. PDF Shrink can also protect PDFs with industry-standard encryption to prevent unauthorized access or restrict users from changing, printing or extracting content.

Individual PDF Shrink 4.5 licenses are available for $35 US, while site licenses cost $875. PDF Shrink is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003 and 2008.

A fully functional 10-day demo version is available from the Apago website.
