Adobe Systems has posted a version 6.0.2 update for both its commercial Acrobat 6.0.1 — Professional and Standard — and the free Adobe Reader 6.0.1 software. The v.6.0.2 Windows and Macintosh updaters are available for download from the PDF Store, an official mirror site, as well as from Adobe.com’s main downloads page. The updaters require that v.6.0.1 of the respective Adobe application(s) already be installed on the system; you can also use the installed program’s ‘Update’ feature (automated or manually) to launch the updating process. NOTE: This v.6.0.2 update will not work with the low-end Acrobat Elements program.
In a recent Support Knowledgebase Document (#330527) entitled ‘Issues addressed by the Acrobat 6.0.2 update and Adobe Reader 6.0.2 update,’ Adobe explains that ‘the update fixes a number of problems discovered after Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and Adobe Reader 6.0 were released,’ adding that ‘some of the issues addressed in this update involve technical details relating to the Adobe XML architecture. The PDF Store download page includes a table listing the issues addressed by the Acrobat 6.0.2 update and Adobe Reader 6.0.2.
