Adobe Systems has posted the updated Acrobat 7 SDK containing the documentation, headers, sample code, and tools developers need to build plug-ins, integrate Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Professional, and Adobe Reader into another solution, or automate processes. Highlights include:
- Support for .NET (Visual Studio.NET now a supported development IDE)
- Supported Reader ActiveX component (for integrating Reader viewer into applications)
- Requirement for rebuilding MAC plug-ins for Mach-O
- Much improved documentation
While access to the full SDK is limited to membership in the ASN Developer Program or the Acrobat SDK Developer Subscription, select documentation is freely available, including the
>Acrobat Developer FAQ [PDF: 273kb] that provides answers to frequently asked questions about the Acrobat 7.0 SDK.
