Adobe launches Creative Suite 3

Adobe this week announced the release of its upgraded applications for creative and graphics professionals in the form of Adobe Creative Suite 3.0. The upgraded apps in the suite release include: Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, InDesign CS3, Illustrator CS3, Flash CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, and After Effects CS3. The company also added improvements to Adobe Bridge CS3.

John Loiacono, senior vice-president of creative solutions at Adobe, said the company focused on integrating major upgrades to ‘flagship design tools’ and aimed to radically simplify web design and development. Adobe made particular strides in its Adobe PhotoShop CS3 release retaining the image power and adding tools to create 3D, motion graphics along with providing more image measurement and image rendering analysis in the package.

Adobe focused the release around empowering graphic and creative professionals with more integration of graphics and encompassing several multimedia formats. The company also recently debuted its alpha version of the Apollo runtime which the company says is aimed at giving developers the opportunity to begin building applications for Apollo. Developers can get more information for Apollo here.

The CS3 is in total an upgrade of 15 products, six suites and nine technologies. Not to be left out of the growing demand for social network applications, Adobe also debuted its social network Kuler. It’s a little ‘kule’ and you can check it out and make your colorful statement with it here. I particularly like the Granny Smith apple kuler. The release is free of charge as a technology preview, according to Adobe and users are encouraged to come and try it out.

Finally, if you’re feeling a bit left out of all the Adobe ‘hoopla’ you can watch the highly orchestrated webcast of the release event at Skylight Studios.
