Adobe acquires Q-Link Technologies

Acquisition provides Java-based process management technology for greater extensibility of the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform

Adobe Systems has announced the acquisition of Q-Link Technologies, Inc., a leading innovator in business process management software. Q-Link’s Java-based workflow technology will be integrated with the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform to enable customers to reduce document processing cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks and integrate business processes more easily and efficiently across the extended enterprise.

A privately held company based in Tampa, FL, with customers in government, financial services, manufacturing and telecommunications, Q-Link provides a pure J2EE component based workflow architecture that enables developers to visually assemble complete applications faster than traditional application development. From workflow to forms, UI design, rules, web services, integration and Business Activity Monitoring (BAM), Q-Link offers a fully unified solution to easily build process-driven applications. Further, because Q-Link’s technology is pure Java, it’s fully extensible with custom and third-party applications.

‘The acquisition of Q-Link provides a powerful process management engine to the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform,’ said Ivan Koon, senior vice president, Intelligent Documents Business Unit, Adobe Systems. ‘Q-Link’s technology is a highly extensible and scalable architecture that will enable Adobe to give customers a simplified way to orchestrate and integrate document process management with core applications.’
